About Me

A Voice For Nixa

My Hometown

When I walked into Mrs. Judy Gee’s 2nd grade class at Thomas Elementary – well we just called it “the” elementary – in the fall of 1979, I had no way of knowing that I would end up calling Nixa my hometown. 40 years later I have grown up, graduated, lived, worked and raised a family in that little town of 1,200 that my parents decided to call home all those years ago. As an army brat, I had never lived anywhere for too long, but when my parents decided that Nixa would be the last place we moved, I could not have known what a special place it was, and would become.

My Work

When I left law school, I went to work for a legal software company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before our first daughter Sidney was born, my wife DeeDee and I moved back to the Springfield. When we returned, I went to work for McKesson Corporation in Springfield, where I received the national Keystone Award for outstanding quality improvement 3 years in a row. After 10 years with McKesson, I became a Software Engineer for Jack Henry and Associates. In 2012, I left Jack Henry and established my own firm, SPR Consulting, providing computer software and consulting services. In 2018 I joined 3Cloud Solutions, a national leader in cloud-based consulting, where I get to work with major businesses and organizations across the county.

My Family

In 2001 DeeDee and I moved back to Nixa so Sidney could attend school. In 2002 we were blessed with our second daughter Taylor. Both girls attended Nixa Public Schools from kindergarten. Sidney graduated from Nixa High School in 2016, graduated from the University of Missouri in 2020 and is currently attend graduate school at New York University. Taylor graduated in 2020 and is a sophomore at Boston University. DeeDee works full time at keeping me in line – and also as a real estate agent for the Nixa office of Murney and Associates.
